JJ’s Radio Show

JJ’s Radio Show is a freewheeling freeform celebration of music. Combining aural passion and aesthetic strategy, each weekly mix is compiled, edited, rejected, rescued, rearranged, agonized over, and finally sent out into the world and judged by a jury of y’all.

JJ is shorthand for Jason Josephes, a Minnesota born and Seattle-based broadcaster, live music booker, freelance writer, and sometimes graphic designer.

He has written for many music publications, some of which you’ve even heard of (Pitchfork, The Rocket, The Stranger). He also saved Seattle’s Blue Moon Tavern from closing, managing the live music booking for seventeen years before moving on to produce events at Darrell’s Tavern.

His first radio show aired on KVSC-FM and immediately became the best thing to come out of Saint Cloud, Minnesota since Interstate 94. Several years at KSER-FM followed later until early 2020 when, well… you know. But now he’s got this other radio show, and its his favorite and most entertaining one yet. It airs Thursday nights at 10pm on KBFG-FM in Seattle.
